From the circuit

On 13 October 2026 the FIA confirmed the environmental accreditation of Autodromo Nazionale Monza at its highest, three-star level. The decision followed a review of the documents the circuit submitted.

What the federation reviewed

The review covered the ISO 14001:2015 (environmental management) and ISO 20121:2024 (sustainable event management) certificates, the 2025 ESG report, improvement objectives and programmes, internal audit records, greenhouse gas inventories for scopes 1 and 2 and the relevant scope 3 categories, and supply chain documentation. The FIA highlighted the robustness of the circuit's environmental management system and its strategy of continuous improvement. Circuit president Giuseppe Redaelli called the confirmation further recognition of Monza's path towards more structured and sustainable management of its activities and major events.

The FIA programme has three levels, from one to three stars; each is assessed by an independent external auditor, and its framework draws on ISO 14001 and ISO 20121. Monza received one star in 2020 and two in 2021, and announced the third in February 2023. The circuit lies in a park of more than 700 hectares and has held ISO 14001 certification since July 1998.

What it means for an amateur driver

The accreditation changes nothing about access: it assesses the circuit's management system, not the driving rules. Monza runs track days for drivers in their own cars: a 225-minute session costs 390 euros, two sessions 690 euros, car entry to the grounds 10 euros, helmet hire 15 euros. At most 50 cars are on track at once, and a session takes up to 85 entries. No licence is needed, a helmet and the briefing are mandatory, the car must be privately owned, registered and insured. Sessions cannot be booked in advance: you register and pay at the circuit on the day.

A week later: the first Formula E car

On 19 October a Formula E car ran at Monza for the first time. The Porsche team brought the GEN4 car, due to debut in the 2026/27 season, and Pascal Wehrlein, Nico Müller and Josep Maria Martí took turns at the wheel.

What we do not know

How long the renewal is valid: neither the circuit's announcement nor the FIA programme page gives a validity period. The offer page lists no 2027 track-day dates; the circuit's office supplies the calendar. Whether Formula E will return to Monza for a race, the announcement does not say.
