On 20 October 2026 the Red Bull Ring announced the full set of its four biggest events of the 2027 season. Compared with 2026, three of the four dates move: MotoGP comes three weeks earlier, Formula 1 two weeks later, and the Red Bull Ring Classics and MotoGP swap places in the calendar.
What the operator announced
Projekt Spielberg, the company that runs the circuit, gives four dates: DTM on 23 to 25 April, the Formula 1 Austrian Grand Prix on 9 to 11 July, the MotoGP Austrian Grand Prix on 27 to 29 August and the Red Bull Ring Classics, an event for historic racing cars, on 11 and 12 September. The circuit had already given the MotoGP date on 25 September, when the FIM published the world championship calendar. In 2026 the same four ran on 24 to 26 April, 26 to 28 June, 29 and 30 August and 18 to 20 September. According to the operator, this year's Formula 1 weekend drew 320,000 spectators, the most in the circuit's history.
What it means for the amateur driver
The operator sells drives in your own car, among them the „Freies Fahren mit eigenem Fahrzeug” sessions for drivers with a category B licence and cars no louder than 98 dB. Anyone planning such a trip to Spielberg in 2027 should avoid the four big-event weekends. The summer looks different from this year: the end of June is free of Formula 1, while mid-July, the end of August and mid-September belong to the big events.
Those who want to watch them can buy a SEASON PASS for all four. The Standard version costs 395 euros and gives a standing place at Formula 1 and MotoGP and a free choice of seats at DTM and the Classics. Premium costs 1,150 euros: a seat in the grandstand on the start-finish straight at DTM, Formula 1 and MotoGP and one parking space per two tickets. The allocation is limited.
What we do not know
How many days before and after the big weekends the circuit will be closed to drives in your own car; the release gives only the dates of the events themselves. The offer page for open driving does not list any 2027 dates yet. We are watching for them and will compare them with the calendar of the big events.
