Status on 18 October 2026: the amendment to the Sports Act that would exempt motorsport tracks holding a national federation homologation from noise limits has not reached a vote in the Sejm. Tor Poznań is running, and its fate still hangs on three things at once: the bill, the court and the Chief Inspector of Environmental Protection.
The bill: committee yes, Sejm not yet
The Sejm Committee on Physical Culture, Sport and Tourism adopted the bill unanimously on 14 May 2026; PZM president Michał Sikora spoke of widening the list "to all motorsport tracks", karting and speedway included. On 17 July the committee decided to continue work on the bill. PZM has published nothing since, and the available reports on the Sejm's work show no second reading, no vote and no Senate position. The clause in question reads: "motorsport tracks holding the homologation of the Polish sports federation active in motorsport". It is the second attempt: a year earlier the Sejm rejected a similar Senate amendment.
The court: complaint filed, no ruling
By a decision of 31 March 2026 GIOŚ upheld the regional inspector's 2023 order to stop using the track; after announcing it on 14 April and receiving the operator's motion, it suspended execution, so the track runs under the existing conditions until the Warsaw Voivodeship Administrative Court rules. On 7 May the Commissioner for Human Rights asked GIOŚ which decision exactly had been issued and whether it was final. As of today the case-law databases hold no ruling or order in the matter.
One thing to set straight
In April a foreign outlet wrote that the track had "lost its FIA homologation" ten days before the closure was announced. The opposite is true: in June 2026, after a visit by the chairman of the FIA homologation commission, the Grade 3 homologation was extended for 2026 to 2029. The racing season ran in full; the Automobile Club described the fifth and final round of the Polish Circuit Racing Championship on 18 to 20 September as the biggest races of the season, with almost 250 drivers on the entry list.
What it means for an amateur driver
Track days and Speed Day run under the existing rules until the ruling. Nothing in the case has changed since spring, except that the season passed without a break in driving. Check the date with the organiser before travelling, because any of the three institutions can change the picture from one day to the next.
What we are watching
The Sejm print number and a second-reading date, statements from GIOŚ and the Wielkopolska Automobile Club, and the ruling of the Warsaw administrative court. Every change will be a new story, not a silent edit of this one.
