Track days at Tor Łódź: Track Day Auto, groups and rules

Tor Łódź is in Kiełmina in the Stryków commune and runs the own-car driving itself. It calls it Track Day Auto and describes it as training in the form of free driving on the full layout of the track, under the eye of licensed driving technique instructors. The operator points out that you can come in the car you drive every day, whatever its power and model.

What Track Day Auto looks like

There are two variants: a shorter one of two and a half hours and a longer one of three and a half hours. The course of the day is the same. It starts with registration (about 10 minutes), then there is a theory session and a briefing (about 20 minutes). Participants are split into groups of at most 7 cars, which take turns on the track in 10-minute sessions. When fewer than 7 people come, there are no groups and everyone has the track for the whole practice.

An instructor for you alone for the whole track day is booked separately, by contacting the track.

What you need

• a car in working order, with a full tank and its fluids topped up,
• an exhaust within the 98 dB limit. The track measures noise at 3/4 of the revs, half a metre from the exhaust outlet; you can have the measurement done free of charge during the track's opening hours,
• a helmet if the car has a roll cage or an open roof. In other cars a helmet is not required, but the operator strongly recommends one,
• close-fitting clothes that do not restrict your movements, and ideally sports shoes.

You can take a passenger. They must be an adult or have a parent's consent, and before the drive they fill in a statement at the track. Two drivers can take turns in one car, for an extra fee charged on site, but they then share the first driver's sessions.

The track has a compressor and a power connection in the large car park, for example for tyre warmers. There is no tyre service. The nearest petrol stations are about 3 kilometres from the track.

How to sign up

The calendar on the track's website shows the dates and free places, and that is also where you book your place. If you do not come, the booking is lost with no refund of the entry fee. You can change the date once, no later than 7 days before the drive.
