Track days at Tor Modlin: Track Day Samochodowy and sign-up

At Tor Modlin in Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki, track days are run by the venue's operator, the company Tor Modlin. It calls them Track Day Samochodowy (car track day) or free practice, and it aims them at amateur drivers and competitors alike. During the driving, the track's instructors help with driving technique.

What the practice looks like

Each date is a block of about three and a half hours: morning, afternoon, and sometimes also evening. Up to 30 cars take part in the practice, split into three groups of at most 10 cars. The groups go out on track according to a schedule set on the day of the event, in sessions released every 15 minutes. Anyone with a lot of track experience goes into the advanced group.

The afternoon date runs like this: registration at reception from 13:20 to 13:50, a mandatory briefing from 13:50 to 14:00, and then driving until 17:00. The briefing starts 10 minutes before the driving, and you must not be late for it.

For an extra fee you can hire an instructor or a Garmin Catalyst track driving optimiser. The number of devices is limited, so you book them at reception.

What you need

• a registered car with a valid technical inspection and third-party liability insurance,
• a driving licence,
• a helmet if the car has a roll cage or a soft top (convertible).

The passenger must fill in a statement. For a minor, their legal guardian does it at reception, in person on site. If you have a loud exhaust, ask the operator about the noise limit before you sign up.

Two drivers can share one car in one group. If each of them wants to drive in a different group, each buys a separate entry.

How to sign up

The calendar on the track's website shows the dates, times and number of free places. There you pay for the entry without a voucher, or register with a voucher, which is valid for a year. Online booking closes automatically 7 days before the date; after that you have to contact the track's reception.
