Kraków orders a circuit design for Kosiarzy Street. One million zloty for documentation

The Kraków Sports Infrastructure Board (ZIS) has opened a tender for the complete design documentation of a motorcycle and car circuit, together with a public road, on Kosiarzy Street in Rybitwy. It is the first step in years that turns a participatory-budget idea into a document with a designer's signature.

What the city is ordering

The tender covers the full construction and detailed design; bids were due by 9:00 on 8 May 2026. The city set aside one million zloty in its 2026 budget for this stage, and the whole investment including the access road is estimated at about 30 million zloty. The work is split in two: stage one is the construction and rebuilding of about 1.6 km of road from the junction with Stanisław Dąbek Street; stage two is the circuit itself with the main carriageway, a manoeuvring area, a service lane and internal roads.

Where the circuit comes from

The idea came from the participatory budget and waited around ten years for a concrete step. Before any decision to build was taken, residents had already held a protest against the project. Noise is the common denominator of every new venue in Poland: without the change to the Sports Act now before the Sejm, every new circuit inherits the dispute that has surrounded Tor Poznań since 2023.

What it means for an amateur driver

Nothing changes for now. Documentation is not a building permit, and a permit is not asphalt. In Kraków, driving your own car still means Motopark, which has its own page in the Track days section. If the Kosiarzy circuit is built, it will be the first municipal venue of its kind in Małopolska, and it will redraw the track-day map of southern Poland.
